Lava Mae is a San Francisco based non-profit that believes in restoring dignity to the homeless by providing free and accessible mobile hygiene stations. They receive hundreds of inquiries worldwide from people interested in volunteering or even starting their own branch, so Lava Mae came to us looking for a tool that would allow them to connect people across their network and serve as a hub for sharing toolkits and experiences.
We developed a web application using Ruby on Rails and ReactJS. It contains a discussion forum for users to post and answer questions, a resource page with the necessary toolkits for starting a branch available to download, and an interactive map that visualizes the scale and impact of Lava Mae around the world. Through this tool, Lava Mae will be able to leverage their extensive network to strengthen and expand their mission.
